TEACHERS' SCHOLARSHIP 2009
Applications are invited for twelve (12) Scholarships/Grants to be awarded in 2009 to full time students entering the final year of a first degree programme at a recognized local University.
The applicants must be members of the JTA Co-operative Credit Union Ltd., who have successfully completed their second year programme, (or first year, for those doing a two-year course), preferably in the field of Education.

50th ANNIVERSARY ACTIVITIES
The JTA Co-operative Credit Union is delighted to be celebrating its 50th anniversary this year and is apprising you of the following activities:
- Outside Broadcast, July 2009
- Launch of 50:50 Savings Campaign, July 2009
- Special Magazine in the Gleaner dated July 19, 2009 showcasing the works of the Credit Union for the past 50 years
- Anniversary banquet to be held in October, 2009
SHARE CAPITALIZATION OF THE JTA CO-OPERATIVE CREDIT UNION LTD. (PERMANENT SHARES)
The JTA Co-operative Credit Union Ltd., to strengthen its capital base, will be issuing a new class of shares called “Permanent Shares". This will qualify as capital under the Bank of Jamaica Regulations, and the new International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Shares in an entity can only be considered capital if it is of a permanent nature. Currently, all our members’ shares can be withdrawn which means that we do not fulfill this requirement.
It is important to note that permanent shares, when implemented, cannot be used as security for loans.
JTA/SAGICOR NATIONAL PRIMARY, ALL AGE AND JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOLS’ ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIPS
The JTA Co-operative Credit Union is proud to be a sponsor of the National Primary, All Age and Junior High Schools’ Athletics Championships. The Credit Union has been providing sponsorship for this event for 26 years and has now become one of the major sponsors.
The meet was held on Thursday May 14 and Friday May 15, 2009.

SALE OUT on Auto Loans
Auto loan rates have been updated and are now as follows:
- For new and one year old vehicles - 18.25%
- For two - four year old vehicles - 19.05%
The respective repayment terms and financing schedule remains the same.

Your Credit Union now has the facility to communicate with you through text and voice messaging. Messages can be received on cell phones from all mobile providers as well as land lines (voice message).
For this to be effective, it is important that that your file at the Credit Union contains your updated phone numbers.
